Mobile Sterilization Systems

The medical waste sterilization autoclave utilizes high pressure and heat to raise medical waste to a specific temperature, making it safe to mix with household waste. Medical waste collected in bags and boxes is placed into autoclave containers and then directed into the sterilization process. After pre-heating and vacuuming, the waste is heated to 130-145°C, and the pressure is increased to 3.0-4.0 bar. All process parameters can be adjusted via the PLC control system provided by the manufacturer.

The sterilization process lasts 10-20 minutes. Afterward, a vacuum drying phase is applied, and the system automatically opens the doors to discharge the sterilized waste. The processed waste is then transferred to the shredding system, where it is completely reduced in size. As a result, the waste volume is reduced by 60% to 80%.

Working Principle

PROMED medical waste sterilization autoclaves operate with a fully automated system, where all processes are controlled by a high-capacity PLC automation system. All process parameters are monitored and recorded at second intervals by the PLC system.

To ensure operator safety, all necessary precautions have been taken, and safety restrictions are managed by the PLC system. PROMED medical waste sterilization autoclaves are entirely made of stainless steel and are designed with the highest quality components, ensuring long-lasting and trouble-free operation.

Sterilization Cycle

When the sterilization cycle begins, the top lid automatically opens, and the waste is emptied from the discharge chamber into the device. Once the waste is fully transferred, the lid closes, and the shredding process starts.

The PLC-controlled shredding mechanism automatically adjusts its rotation direction with the “anti-blockage” system, preventing blade jamming.

The specially developed shredding system can efficiently process stainless steel surgical instruments and durable ceramic materials.

The mixer located in the upper chamber continuously feeds material into the shredding unit, ensuring a seamless and efficient operation.

Steam is supplied to the device until a uniform temperature of 134°C (274°F) is reached in both the upper and lower chambers. Sterilization is completed by maintaining the temperature between 134°C and 138°C with equivalent pressure for 10 minutes.

These processes ensure an 8Log10 reduction in the pathogenic contamination level of medical waste.

During the cooling process, excess steam accumulated in the chamber is discharged, while the temperature of the sterilized waste is lowered through cold air injection. The condensed water, which has undergone sterilization and can be safely released into the sewage system, is filtered and discharged using a pressure and vacuum system.

When the discharge lid opens, a container is positioned beneath the chamber, allowing the sterilized waste to be easily released. Once the container is removed, the bottom lid closes, and the sterilizer automatically initiates the next cycle.
